Recently, Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson admitted that he would like to strengthen the Eagles' attack in the summer transfer window and boy has it been a long time coming.
While generally a solid, over-performing side in most areas, Hodgson's Palace have struggled for consistent goalscorers. in two of the last five seasons, a midfielder has finished top scorer for the Eagles, while only twice have they actually had a forward hit double figures.
Here's every forward to play for Crystal Palace in the last five years, ranked.
13. Loic Remy: 0 Goals - 8 Appearances
Joining on loan from Chelsea back in August 2016, Remy was a Crystal Palace player for all but two weeks before an injury sent him back to Stamford Bridge for treatment.
It wasn't until January when he made his debut for the Eagles and, despite high hopes from Palace fans following his move, Remy only made five appearances for the Eagles and failed to score a single goal.
12. Patrick Bamford: 0 Goals - 9 Appearances
Although Bamford didn't manage to score a single goal during his loan spell at Selhurst Park back in 2015, the then 21-year-old didn't really get much chance to.
The Chelsea loanee was limited to just nine appearances for the club, with seven of them coming off the bench.
11. Cenk Tosun: 1 Goal - 5 Appearances
It's hard to criticise Tosun's time at Palace too harshly. The forward may have only scored once for the Eagles, but he was injured five games into his loan spell and was swiftly sent back to Everton.
While we'll never know just how prolific Tosun would have gone on to be, his one goal in five games is still pretty unimpressive.
10. Marouane Chamakh: 0 Goals - 12 Appearances
Marouane Chamakh's Crystal Palace career didn't actually get off to that bad a start.
His 10 goals in his first two seasons at Selhurst Park is the sort of form some of the strikers on this list can only dream of.
Unfortunately, his last season is the only one from the last five years and it was a season that saw the forward make 12 appearances and not hit the back of the net once.
9. Alexander Sorloth: 1 Goal - 16 Appearances
Following a prolific goal-scoring campaign in Denmark, Norwegian striker Sorloth joined Palace in 2018, but so far has only hit the back of the net once in 16 appearances for the club.
Sorloth is currently scoring for fun during his loan spell at Turkish side Trabzonspor and has since been linked with Real Madrid, so maybe it's just Crystal Palace.
8. Emmanuel Adebayor: 1 Goal - 15 Appearances
Having been released from Tottenham the previous summer, former Arsenal and Real Madrid striker Adebayor arrived at Palace on a six-month deal in January 2016.
He went on to make 15 appearances for the Eagles, scoring one goal, before leaving in the summer, with everyone soon forgetting this move ever happened.
7. Fraizer Campbell: 3 Goals - 28 Appearances
Campbell's time at Palace was one of the worst stretches of the forward's career.
The Englishman scored three times over his last two seasons at the club (between 2015 and 2017), a tally he would double in his first season at Hull.
6. Dwight Gayle: 7 Goals - 20 Appearances
Only one of Gayle's three years at Palace occured in the last five years, with the Englishman scoring seven goals in all competitions for the Eagles during the 2015/16 season.
Gayle ended up finishing that season as Palace's top scorer, a statement which tells you all you need to know about the club's goalscoring problems.
5. Connor Wickham: 11 Goals - 50 Appearances
The first man on the list to at least hit double figures during the the last half-decade for Palace.
Connor Wickham has spent the majority of his time at Palace in and out of the first team and has never had a regular run in the side.
4. Michy Batshuayi: 6 Goals - 13 Appearances
In one of the more efficient runs at Palace, Belgian Batshuayi averaged just under a goal every two games during his spell at Selhurst Park in 2018/19.
The third Chelsea player loaned to Palace in this list, Batshuayi actually played fairly well for Palace and could have been the answer to their lack of goals if they'd made the deal permanent.
3. Christian Benteke: 22 Goals - 113 Appearances
Benteke's time at Palace got off to a scintillating start, with the Belgian scoring 17 goals in his first season at the club in 2016/17.
Five goals in the following three seasons has really stalled what once looked like a promising move, however.
2. Jordan Ayew: 11 Goals - 59 Appearances
£2.5m summer signing Ayew's start to life at Palace hinted at the striker heading the same way as the many predecessors before him. However, nine goals for the Eagles this season makes him one of the club's most prolific goalscorers in the last five years.
While that's pretty sad, Ayew has actually proved himself a useful player this year if not one of the Premier League's top poachers.
1. Wilfried Zaha: 34 Goals - 179 Appearances
Zaha really has been Palace's saving grace over the last few years. The former Manchester United man has popped up time and time again with a goal when Palace has needed it.
The 27-year-old Ivory Coast international, who came through the club's youth academy, has over 30 goals since rejoining Palace while he is one of the league's most coveted (and fouled) players.
