Palace have completed the signing of Wolves midfielder Mark Kennedy on a free transfer.

The 30-year-old left winger has signed a two-year deal with the Eagles after his contract at Molineux expired. The contract also includes the option of a third year.

Kennedy is a Republic of Ireland international and cost Wolves £2m five years ago when he signed from Manchester City.

Palace boss Peter Taylor told the Croydon Guardian how pleased he was to have got his man ahead of competition from the likes of Leeds and Cardiff.

"I think he is a very experienced player with a good left foot, who really wanted to come here," said Taylor.

"We are very pleased he's coming, he is a good crosser of the ball and it was a good bit of business to get him here on a free transfer."
