Paul Ifill gave the visitors a 28th minute lead which they held until half time. Within 5 mins of the restart Palce were 2 - 1 up. Burgess for Blackpool levelled with on loan Craig Beattie restoring the lead a minute later.
As the rain lashed down Blckpool went in search of a leveller and they got it through Ian Evatt who headed home from a long free kick.
That was it for the scoring but it will take weeks for the visiting supporters to fully dry out.
