Taylor delight at striker signing

Palace boss Peter Taylor has spoken of his delight in signing Liverpool striker Besian Idrizaj, and reckons he could play him against Charlton on Saturday.

The 19-year-old forward inked a 12 month loan contract on Thursday, giving Taylor a couple of days to consider putting him in the squad for the Addicks game.

"He's going to train with us on Thursday, thanks to the kind permission of Liverpool, so if I see him and he looks a world beater, then I would consider that," Taylor told the official site.

"He's now been given an opportunity to come here and play some matches and hopefully he will be a success."

Idrizaj has been at Liverpool since summer 2005, netting regularly for the reserves. He was also involved in Liverpool's pre-season friendlies, bagging a speedy hat-trick in the warm-up game against Wrexham.

"He's a player that I was speaking to people at Liverpool about a week or so before he played against Wrexham in pre-season," Taylor said.

"When he managed to score a hat-trick in 26 minutes, I thought that might have alerted everybody but he's a very talented player and we're glad to have him.

"Speaking to people at Liverpool, they tell me that when he's been involved with the first team he has upped his level and that's what we're hoping he's going to do here."
