Dundee boss Ivano Bonetti expects to capture the signature of Crystal Palace ace Fan Zhiyi this week after he said he was happy to make the move.

Zhiyi is currently on international duty, but met with club co-ordinator Dario Magri at the weekend.
And the player suggested that a switch to Dens Park from Selhurst Park may happen sooner rather than later.

Bonetti said: "Dario is still in China, but he will be returning to Scotland as soon as everything is completed.

"He has spoken to Fan Zhiyi, and he says he is happy to sign.

"He is very good in the air and is the captain of China, so we know that he is a quality player.

"We have been working very hard on bringing Zhiyi to Dundee, and I hope that a deal can be done very soon."

The Zhiyi signing may be the first of many over the coming weeks after Bonetti hinted that he is set to venture into the transfer market again to strengthen his squad.

He added: "I have always said that if we bring more players into the club they will be internationals who can give us the quality that we need.

"Fan Zhiyi is the first one, and there will be a couple of others.

"He is very good in the air and is the captain of China, so we know that he is a quality player, and we need more like him.

"We will see what happens tomorrow."
