Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage has demanded immediate defensive accountability following a dispiriting 2-0 home defeat to Newcastle United at Selhurst Park on Sunday.
Goals from William Osula and Harvey Barnes condemned the Eagles to another league defeat, leaving Palace with the poorest defensive record in the top flight this season.
With Palace anchored in the bottom three and pressure intensifying, Sage addressed the recurring errors across his backline.
"We have made a lot of mistakes, especially defensively, but we need to have the highest level of mentality and organisation," he said.
Palace face crucial fixtures in the coming weeks against fellow bottom-half sides in an effort to steer clear of an entrenched relegation battle.
