Butterfield for Palace

Palace have signed Grimsby utility man Danny Butterfield. Butterfield, who can play as a defender or midfielder has made 124 appearances for Grimsby. It is understood that he was at Palace on Thursday and passed a medical. He is out of contract at the Mariners, and his leaving would pave the way for them to persue their interest in former Ipswich Town reserve team captain Will Snowdon, who they took on trial at the end of last season.
Butterworth is the first arrival at Selhurst during the close season.
