Palace manager Steve Kember has wielded the axe on Adi Akinbiyi and Danny Granville, making both available for transfer. Both players were left behind when Palace set up their pre season training camp in Spain last week. Akinbiyi only started 11 matches for Palace and scored 3 times, whilst Granville lost his place last season to the highly rated Gary Borrowdale. The main stumbling block to their departures are the hefty salaries which both players draw. They will have to decide whether to take a pay cut in order to move for regular first team football or to stay at Selhurst knowing that they do not feature in Kember's plans.
Meanwhile former Palace star Neil Shipperley has agreed personal terms to re-join the Eagles and the deal is expected to go through in the next couple of days.
