Palace went out of the EU Communities Trophy in Seville last night, going down 2 - 0 to a strong Real Betis outfit. Real, playing on their home patch took the lead after 8 minutes and also hit a post in the first half. Curtis Fleming was harshly adjudged to have brought down an attacker in the box, but justice was done when Matt Clarke saved the resulting spot kick. Real extended their lead after 62 minutes effectively ending the game as a contest. Palace will return home later today having learned from some quality opposition.
