Rodger on his way?

Simon Rodger, Palace's longest serving player has not been offered a new contract when his current deal expires in the summer. Rodger (30) has been with Palace for 11 years, following his signing from non League Bognor Regis Town. Manager Trevor Francis has trimmed the wage bill in recent weeks by releasing a number of junior and reserve team players, and it appears that the popular Rodger may be the first of a number of big names to go in the next round of cost cutting, as Francis looks to re-shape his squad for next season. Meanwhile there is bad news for midfielder Steven Thomson. He burst a vein in his foot during the 0-0 draw at Crewe on Sunday, and although the injury is not serious, it will keep him out for two weeks, effectively ending his season.
