Andrews set for City loan move

Wayne Andrews is poised to move to Bristol City on loan, despite the closure of the transfer window last night.

Palace had been prepared to let Andrews leave for Ashton Gate, but the deal was not finalised in time to beat the transfer deadline.

However, clubs are still allowed to make emergency loans up to seven days after the window closes – meaning the deal could go through any time up to next Wednesday.

City boss Brian Tinnion is desperate to add another striker to his squad after Marcus Stewart was ruled out for a month with a broken finger.

Andrews has struggled to make an impact at Selhurst Park since joining from Colchester last season, and last week’s arrival of Clinton Morrison has relegated him even further down the strikers’ pecking order.
