Black back at Palace

Tommy Black has returned to Selhurst Park after injury brought his loan spell at Bradford City to an abrupt end.

The midfielder had made six appearances for City since signing for them last month, but was sent back to Palace after cracking a rib during a match.

The injury comes as a disappointment to Bantams manager Colin Todd, who had been hoping to extend Black's loan by another month.

“Unfortunately the deal's dead now,” said Todd. “It's a real shame but he's going to be out for a significant time so there is no point in him staying with us.

“He had an X-ray on Sunday which didn't show anything but another one yesterday revealed a crack which will take a while to heal.

“It is a blow to lose Tommy because he has made a significant impact since he first came as he got fitter and fitter.”
