Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest left the Eagles languishing in the relegation zone and highlighted the need for reinforcements to Burley's thin squad.
"We're trying to get the balance right in the team," said Burley.
"Our options are limited. In January we will look to try and strengthen the squad. It's going to be a big challenge but that's the Championship."
