Burley blasts Palace defending

George Burley bemoaned his Crystal Palace side's defending in the 4-3 defeat by Preston. In a thrilling encounter Preston were coasting at 4-1 after goals from Jon Parkin (2), Keith Treacy and Callum Davidson. But Owen Garvan's first-half strike was added to late on by Andy Dorman and James Vaughan as Palace made a late rally. "You have to question some of our defending but plenty of decisions went against us. But overall we kept going until the end and showed a lot of character," said Burley. "It was disappointing after three goals to come away with nothing." "We switched off for the first goal and then the second goal was a diagonal ball and the third I even missed. And the fourth was not a penalty."
