Carle missed the weekend's game at Plymouth to hold discussions about a loan move.
Eagles boss Neil Warnock told the South London Press: "We allowed Nick to speak to them and that is why he wasn't on the bench. He asked our permission to go and look at the place. He went late Friday and should be back by the middle of this week.
"They are talking about a loan until Christmas."
