Lee and Scowcroft are both struggling with hamstring injuries and are not expected to be fit in time for the derby game at Selhurst Park.

Youngster Calvin Andrew is also missing with a knee injury so on-loan West Brom forward Craig Beattie, who made his debut in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Ipswich, should keep his place.

Teenager Victor Moses should stay in the starting line-up after scoring his first goal of the season at Portman Road, while forgotten striker Shefki Kuqi made a surprise appearance from the bench eight months after being placed on the transfer list.

Midfielder Neil Danns (groin) is close to returning and defender Paddy McCarthy should face his former club.

Zheng Zhi is pushing for a return to the Charlton squad.

The China international is back in training following a foot injury and could make his first appearance of the season.

Boss Alan Pardew is pondering changes to his side following Saturday's disappointing defeat by Sheffield Wednesday so Zheng and Svetoslav Todorov will be in contention.

Todorov made his first appearance in 11 months following cruciate ligament damage as a substitute against the Owls and could figure more prominently at Selhurst Park - where he scored the winner last season.

Linvoy Primus made his second Addicks debut at the weekend despite a knee problem and will be checked over.

Skipper Mark Hudson faces the club he left in the summer but Jonathan Fortune, Izale McLeod (both knee), Therry Racon (foot) and Harry Arter (Achilles) are still missing.
