Crystal Palace V Hull at Selhurst Park - Match Preview

Eagles hampered by injuries

Crystal Palace are still without a host of players for the visit of promotion rivals Hull.

Skipper Paddy McCarthy (groin) remains a long-term absentee and fellow defenders Joel Ward (groin) and Danny Gabbidon (hamstring) will miss out again, although the latter pair are edging closer to fitness.

Midfielders Owen Garvan (knee), Andre Moritz (ankle) and Alex Nimely (hamstring) are also on the injured list.

Winger Wilfried Zaha shrugged off an ankle knock to play in the 1-0 win at Derby on Friday night and came through unscathed so he will start, while midfielder Jonathan Williams could be recalled after dropping to the bench at Pride Park.

Striker Kwesi Appiah has returned to Selhurst Park following a month-long loan spell with Yeovil.

Hull boss Steve Bruce has only one new injury concern for the trip.

Midfielder Tom Cairney picked up an unspecified injury in training on Monday and will miss out.

Cairney was on the bench for the 5-2 hammering of Birmingham on Saturday and Bruce is otherwise unlikely to make any changes.

Defensive duo Paul McShane and Abdoulaye Faye were added to the squad at the weekend having returned from injury and both will get the nod again.

George Boyd will look to continue his impressive start to his Tigers career after netting inside the opening minute against Blues.

The Humberside club, who sit second in the npower Championship, have no other injury or suspension worries.
