Crystal Palace V Ipswich at Selhurst Park - Match Preview

Holloway set to stick with same side

Ian Holloway is unlikely to make many changes to his Crystal Palace side when he takes charge for the first time against Ipswich.

Holloway was confirmed as Palace's new manager on Saturday and watched from the stands as they beat Blackburn 2-0.

Caretaker boss Curtis Fleming named an unchanged line-up after the Eagles won 2-1 at Leicester the week before, and their unbeaten run now stands at 11 matches.

Midfielder Jonny Williams has sat out the last two games as a precaution having suffered various niggles since recovering from a broken leg last season, so he could be added to the squad.

Paddy McCarthy is still missing with the groin problem which has kept him out all season so midfielder Mile Jedinak retains the captain's armband while Peter Ramage partners ex-Town defender Damien Delaney at the back.

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy is likely to keep faith with an unchanged line-up.

McCarthy masterminded Town's first win in 13 matches as they beat Birmingham 1-0 on Saturday in what was his first game at the helm after taking charge just 48 hours previously.

Two changes were made at St Andrew's as McCarthy opted for experience over youth, recalling Guirane N'Daw from the cold along with fellow midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker in favour of Luke Hyam and Josh Carson.

N'Daw could provide the only concern having reported cramp in both legs after the game although he is expected to be okay.

Meanwhile, Ipswich have received a blow with the news striker Paul Taylor is likely to miss the rest of the season.

Taylor has been sidelined since the 2-0 defeat to Wolves on September 19 having broken a bone in his foot in what was only his third game since arriving from Peterborough. Town had hoped rest would allow the injury to heal but, despite initial promise, it seems surgery will be needed.
