Crystal Palace v Reading

Last updated : 18 February 2010 By BBC Sport

Reading will be without striker Shane Long, while Gylfi Sigurdsson is a doubt with a foot injury.

Long begins a four-match ban after he was shown a straight red card during the FA Cup game against West Brom.

MATCH PREVIEW

The recent 10-point deduction imposed after Palace went into administration looked to have thrown them into a relegation battle. Instead, the Eagles' form means a play-off place could still be obtainable.

The threat to Reading's Championship status seems more serious, but they too have been in good form and are starting to pull away from danger under Brian McDermott.

Reading are enjoying their best run of the season. They are still in the FA Cup and have won their last three league games. Another three points would mean four consecutive victories for the first time since December 2008.

The key to the Royals' recovery has been their goalscoring form. They struggled badly in front of goal earlier in the season but have failed to score in only one of their last 15 league matches.

MATCH FACTS

Head-to-head

• Reading have lost only one of their last nine matches at Selhurst Park.

 • A Palace win would complete their first league double over the Royals since the 1995/96 season.

Crystal Palace

• Palace have not lost a Championship match this season in which they have scored first, winning 10 and drawing three of those 13 games.

• Only seven players have scored league goals for Palace this season, meaning they have the shortest scorers list in the division.

• If selected, Clint Hill will be making his 100th league appearance for the London club.

Reading

• Five of Reading's eight league wins this season have been away from home.

• Winger Jobi McAnuff is set to face one of his former clubs.
