Crystal Palace v Reading

Last Updated : 25-Feb-2011 by BBC Sport

Reading midfielder Jem Karacan is available again after serving a three-match suspension.

Alex Pearce is out with a thigh injury, while Alex McCarthy will continue in goal as keeper Adam Federici is still being troubled by a knee problem.

MATCH PREVIEW

Crystal Palace have not beaten Reading at Selhurst Park for nearly 14 years, but their recent home form has been excellent - and has given them some breathing space in their battle for Championship survival.

Palace have won their last two home games and are unbeaten in nine matches on their own patch - a run that stretches back to October. That has helped them climb out of the relegation zone, three points clear of 20th-placed Scunthorpe, although they have played two more games than them.

David Nugent's second-half winner denied Palace a useful away point against Portsmouth on Tuesday, but they again showed plenty of fighting spirit. A victory on Saturday could see them rise two places in the table, depending on other results.

Reading fared better than the Eagles in midweek. Their 2-1 victory against Millwall - secured by Shane Long's 16th goal of the season - ended a six-match winless run and kept the Royals in the play-off race.
