Crystal Palace v Swansea

Last updated : 09 February 2010 By BBC Sport

Danny Butterfield will probably continue as a makeshift striker for Crystal Palace, although Stern John and Calvin Andrew provide other options.Jonny Ertl remains a doubt with a muscle injury and Paddy McCarthy is recovering after a shoulder operation.

Swansea full-back Angel Rangel (ankle) will come back into contention if he passes a fitness test.

Cedric van der Gun is nearing a return from a hamstring injury, and Craig Beattie (ankle) is also sidelined.

MATCH PREVIEW

Fifth-placed Swansea remain in the thick of the promotion race after Saturday's 2-0 win at home to Preston, whose manager Darren Ferguson later conceded that his players are low on confidence and urged them to keep battling.

Now Swansea face a Palace team who have no intention of giving up the battle, despite the club's financial problems. And confidence is certainly not an issue for them after three victories in a row.

Neil Danns' late winner at Scunthorpe on Saturday gave Palace another win and maintained their excellent form since the club went into administration and sold star player Victor Moses.

A 10-point deduction seemed to end Palace's hopes of a play-off place, but despite that setback they are only nine points off the top six and another victory on Tuesday could put the Eagles back into the top half of the table.
