Derry poised for Leeds move

Shaun Derry is expected to complete a move to Championship side Leeds United within the next couple of days.

Derry has made seven Premiership appearances for Palace this season, but has seen his chances of a starting place become increasingly limited.

The 27-year-old had a medical at Leeds this afternoon and the transfer should be officially confirmed tomorrow – with a fee of around £250,000 believed to be involved.

Derry has been at Palace since 2002, when he was signed from Portsmouth. He has made 99 appearances for the Eagles in that time – one of the most memorable being when he stepped in for the suspended Julian Gray in last season’s play-off final.

His departure will surely signal the arrival of another central midfielder in January’s transfer window.
