Derry stays at Palace – for now

Shaun Derry’s proposed move to Leeds United has collapsed, with the two clubs unable to agree the terms of the transfer.

Derry was all set to make the trip up north and join the Championship side for a fee of £250,000, after passing a medical and agreeing terms.

But Leeds’ insistence on making a one-month loan part of the deal has seen the whole thing falter.

"We haven't been able to conclude the terms of the transfer to Crystal Palace's satisfaction," Leeds' spokesman Brian Morris told the club’s web site.

"The situation is we wanted him on loan for a month with a view to a permanent move but they have not agreed.

"It could happen in the future if terms are agreed."

Black on the move?

Meanwhile, Iain Dowie has confirmed Tommy Black is up for sale – but the player does not want another loan move.

The midfielder returned early from a loan period at Sheffield United earlier this season, and now wants to snare a permanent move away from Selhurst Park.

It's believed Nottingham Forest are very keen on getting the player on a full-time deal.

"There is some interest in Tommy, but it has to be followed up," Dowie told Skysports.com. "He's been out on loan once and he's a bit reluctant to go out on loan again.

"He would have a gripe with me for not playing him much, but he's been treated right. He hasn't asked for a move.

"There have been one or two discreet enquiries and one of them was a permanent deal. I think he would like a permanent move."
