Palace legend-elect Iain Dowie has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club for the next four years.

Dowie had just a season left on his existing deal, and his new commitment to the Eagles will give the entire squad a huge boost on the eve of the new Premiership season.

"We have one of the best, if not the best, young managers in the country," said Palace chairman Simon Jordan. "Obviously, Iain will need the right players and facilities to work with and I will ensure he is given them."

In a statement on the official club site, Jordan revealed the rest of the backroom staff had also been given four-year deals. John Harbin, Kit Symons and goalkeeping coach Mick Kelly have all signed new contracts. Dowie's brother Bob has also been brought in on a four-year contract as Director of Football.
