Eagle's eye fresh terms for duo

Negotiations over new deals for the defensive pair have opened with Palace officials working on securing the long term future of the loyal team members. Ward and Delaney played a key role in securing promotion to the Premier League and keeping Palace up last season.

Delaney was sent off against Chelsea last weekend for a second bookable offence. The Irishman's current deal expires at the end of the season, while Ward’s contract has two more years left to run.

An extension for Delaney is understood to be at a more advanced stage than the move to sign Ward to fresh terms.
