Palace are believed to have taken Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Shawky on trial as the Eagles look to secure their first signing of the January transfer window.
Shawky’s club Al-Ahly had been reluctant to let the player leave but, with both Palace and Norwich showing interest, the player has managed to persuade them to reconsider.
