Francis: This team are a good team

As TV replays have shown, with the scores level at 1-1 Palace were unfortunate not to see Tommy Black's effort given as a goal after his scrambled shot crossed the line, or at least a penalty after Michael Duberry clearly handballed on the line prior to Black's shot.

"I don't think we deserved to go out," he said. "The performance was all I was looking for," Francis told Sky Sports.

"The reaction of our players was brilliant. Julian Gray, who got us here with a goal at Anfield, produced a brilliant finish and Leeds were rocking.

"Referees have a tough job but certainly the handball or possibly Tommy Black's shot went a good foot or six inches over the line. Maybe I should say two feet.

"At that moment we would have gone 2-1 up. It didn't happen but we played with fantastic passion and pride," he added.

"Too often games are decided by decisions by referees or assistant referees. We went to Sheffield United in the Worthington Cup and lost out there to a goal which was possibly five yards offside. This game has cost us a few million.

"No-one expected us to get through against Liverpool, especially after the first game. Again we were the underdogs but anyone going away would have thought this team are a good team."
