Palace legend Geoff Thomas has returned home following a life-saving operation in his fight against leukaemia.

The former Eagles captain underwent the operation after his sister proved to be a bone marrow match. He then endured a series of chemotherapy sessions before going home earlier this week.

Family friend Jane Filler told the official site, "He has taken everything in his stride and remained really brave. Typically of the man he is thinking only of the positives in a difficult time of his life".

Geoff led the teams out at the recent home match against Forest, and all Palace fans will now be hoping it won’t be long before we see the inspirational captain back at Selhurst once again.
