Palace boss Peter Taylor is casting his eye over Ghanaian defender Dan Quaye, who is training with with the team.

The 25-year-old was an unused squad member for his country at this year's World Cup and currently plays in his homeland for Hearts of Oak.

Quaye has been with Palace since last week and featured in the 2-1 friendly win over Bromley. Reports suggest Taylor may be readying a £200,000 bid for the right-back, but the Palace boss remains non-commital.

"He played okay in the reserve game," said Taylor. "He has been training with us, and remains here on that basis."
