West Ham have taken another step towards fielding an entire team of goalkeepers by signing Palace trialist Shaka Hislop.

The Hammers now have four senior goalkeepers on their books, with 36-year-old Hislop joining Stephen Bywater, James Walker and Roy Carroll at the club.

The veteran keeper has signed a one-year deal with West Ham after being released by Portsmouth during the summer.

Palace had already withdrawn their interest in Hislop, with chairman Simon Jordan indicating he would only have been signed should either Gabor Kiraly or Julian Speroni have left Selhurst Park.
