Ipswich v Palace. Match preview

Last updated : 18 August 2009 By Palace Reporter

The 16-year-old was a half-time substitute in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Leicester and boss Roy Keane could be set to include him from the start against the Eagles.

David Norris is set to be out for four months after a scan revealed knee ligament damage following an injury he picked up in the opening day defeat at Coventry.

Midfielder Jamie Peters is also a doubt after he picked up an ankle injury against the Foxes while defender Ben Thatcher misses out due to a knee problem but could feature for the reserves this week.

Striker Pablo Counago remains sidelined with a groin injury while Luciano Civelli is out for the rest of the year with a serious knee problem.

Crystal Palace have no new injury worries ahead of the trip.

Palace, still smarting from the controversy of Saturday's defeat at Bristol City when Freddie Sears' goal was disallowed despite the ball clearly crossing the line, will again be without summer signing Stern John.

The Trinidad & Tobago striker suffered a nasty elbow injury barely half an hour into his debut on the opening day of the season and is some way from a return.

The unlucky Sears, who is still looking for his first goal since joining on loan from West Ham, will again be partnered by Alan Lee in attack.

Midfielder Darren Ambrose's shoulder problem will be checked over although he is expected to be fit.
