Jordan blasts Sven over AJ

Simon Jordan has lashed out at England boss Sven Goran Eriksson, claiming he has played a part in convincing Andrew Johnson to hand in a transfer request.

The 24-year-old striker made it clear over the weekend that he wants to leave relegated Palace to give himself a shot at competing for England in next year’s World Cup.

But Jordan feels his star player has been wrongly advised, and has vowed to keep Johnson at the club.

''I am sorry we let Johnson go away with England because that is where his head was turned and Eriksson has not been particularly supportive,'' Jordan said.

''But he will be playing for Palace next season and, if I have to, I will drag Eriksson to Selhurst Park to watch him.

''If a player is under contract, I decide when he goes. Just because we were relegated doesn't mean we have to sell our best players.''
