Jordan wins Dowie case

Palace chairman Simon Jordan has won his court case against former boss Iain Dowie.

Jordan alleged Dowie lied in order to be released from his Palace contract, so he could take up the manager's job at Charlton Athletic.

Jordan's claim was that there was a £1 million release clause built into Dowie's contract, which Dowie was released from because he said he wanted to return north to be with his family. He argued that this reason was proven to be fraudulent representation by Dowie when he joined Charlton days later.

The judge found in favour of this claim and will announce a verdict on costs and compensation payments on Friday 22nd June.
