Joseph-Desire rejects Palace Job

Middlesbrough striker Joseph-Desire Job has confirmed he wants to leave The Riverside Stadium, but says he will not be signing for Palace.

The Eagles had been strongly linked with a move for the Cameroon international, with the player’s agent confirming contact had been made four weeks ago.

But although Job is desperate to get regular first team football, he’s not willing to drop down to the Championship.

"I want to move on because I want to play more and I know I won't get that here," Job told The Star.

"I haven't spoken to the manager but, if the right offer comes in, I think he will let me go.

"Palace are a great club with a very good manager in Iain Dowie but I'm not prepared to drop down a league.

"If they hadn't been relegated, I would have considered a move. But I don't think I'm a Championship player."
