Jon Macken is being targeted by Ipswich Town for a loan move.
New Ipswich boss Jim Magilton is keen to boost his front-line after seeing his side slump to defeat in all of their first three games.
He sees the 28-year-old as a possible solution, although constant injuries have prevented Macken from ever making much of an impact at Palace.
"Macken is definitely a player who interests us," said Magilton.
"I will be speaking to Palace manager Peter Taylor to see if we can get something done.
"I'd like to sign him on loan for a month and take it from there."
