Crystal Palace captain Paddy McCarthy has paid tribute to the club's fans after their opening day 3-2 victory over Leicester City at Selhurst Park.Palace narrowly avoided relegation on the last day of last season and only came out of administration in July.
McCarthy told BBC London 94.9: "There was always a good atmosphere at Selhurst Park.
"But the fans were fantastic throughout the summer when things weren't looking good at the club."

He added: "Since we went into administration the fans have really dragged us through the hard times.
"It's an absolute pleasure to play in front of such an enthusiastic crowd and I'm delighted we've given them something to smile about."
McCarthy was also full of praise for the fledgling players at the club after the likes of Wilfred Zaha, Owen Garvan and Andy Dorman impressed on their debuts.
"This club just keeps producing this young talent and it's fantastic to see the lads coming through. It's given us all a lift to see them come through and play for the first team and it can only bode well for the future of the club."
