Palace assistant boss Neil McDonald has made a plea for Andrew Johnson to be given an England chance against Northern Ireland.
Johnson didn’t even make the bench for last Saturday’s 1-0 win over Wales, as Sven-Goran Eriksson went with a 4-5-1 line-up.
And although Eriksson is expected to play 4-4-2 against the Irish, Johnson’s chances will remain limited following Michael Owen’s return from suspension.
However, McDonald is convinced AJ is worthy of a place in Wednesday night’s team to play in Belfast.
"It was disappointing that AJ was not even on the bench," he said. "It would be great if he could be get a look-in against Northern Ireland, because he's playing well and scoring goals."
Johnson has scored four goals in Palace’s first five Championship games.
