Palace have completed the signing of Ecuadorian international striker Ivan Kaviedes in time for the player to make his debut against Everton on Saturday.

The hotshot has signed from Ecuadorian side Barcelona de Guayaquil in a deal that will eventually be worth £2 million.

Kaviedes has been on trial with the club over the last few days and played in the reserves midweek victory over Ipswich.

"He is an icon in Ecuadorian football, he's an outstanding footballer," Dowie told the official club site. "He's come on trial here and he's shown good motivation in training. He's been a breath of fresh air. He's an outstanding finisher and free kick specialist."

Kaviedes’ CV shows a distinguished list of clubs, with the forward having played for Perugia in Italy, as well as Spanish clubs Celta Vigo and Valladolid. He has received international clearance and is now eligible to play in the home match against Everton at the weekend.
