Palace hope to keep Beattie

He came on as a sub in the draw at Ipswich and then scored the winner against Charlton. He played 90 mins as Palace beat Forest in the last game and now Palace are making enquiries about keeping him for longer.

"We sincerely hope we can keep Craig beyond the month and I know Neil has spoken to Tony Mowbray about it already," assistant-manager Mick Jones told the South London Press.

"We might get news on that sooner rather than later. Craig has had a big effect on the training ground and in the dressing room."
