Palace fans can breathe a sigh of relief because inspirational manager Iain Dowie has finally signed his new four-year deal.
Dowie had agreed the main contract some time ago, but had held off putting pen to paper while some minor details were finalised.
During that time he was heavily linked with the then vacant Blackburn post, as well as with the Southampton hotseat.
But with the 39-year-old boss now committed to the club for the next four years, such speculation should be lessened. Any courting clubs would face paying a large compensation fee to now lure Dowie away from Selhurst Park, a fact which should put many off.
