Palace secure striker trial

In-demand Wealdstone striker Jermaine Beckford played for the reserves in last night’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal after coming to Selhurst on trial.

The 22-year-old front man has been tracked by a number of high-profile clubs, including Chelsea, and had already trained with the Eagles recently.

Palace director of football Bob Dowie admitted earlier this week that he expected the player to sign for Watford before the Arsenal game took place, but it now seems Beckford is keen to keep his options open.
