"I had a call to say Crystal Palace wanted me to come down and I was delighted to be getting the chance to have some games," Beattie told Palace's official website.
"I am looking forward to the chance to help the club climb the table and hopefully that will start straight away this weekend."
Beattie goes straight into the squad for the game at Ipswich. Palace currently have a striker crisis with Alan Lee, James Scowcroft and Calvin Andrew all injured.
