Palace have signed Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Donovan Ricketts on a month’s loan.
The 26-year-old has come to Selhurst after moving to Bolton from Jamaican side Village United in January.
Ricketts has yet to play a first-team game for the Trotters, but is a highly rated keeper. Standing at a towering 6’4", he is the first choice for the Jamaican national team and scooped the man-of-the-match award in their recent match with Brazil.
Bolton snapped him up after that match, although Ricketts had previously been training at Rushden & Diamonds.
His move to Palace seems to be a slightly unusual signing. Bolton currently have Ricketts on a loan deal from his former club – with a permanent move not to be finalised until the summer. Since a full transfer to Selhurst would therefore seem unlikely, the keeper is likely to be used as cover for Cedric Berthelin.
