Palace unveil next season's kit

Palace have unveiled their new kit for the 2007/08 campaign - the sixth redesign in as many seasons.

The new shirts, dreamed up by Italian firm Errea, will be officially launched at Sunday's home match against Derby County.

The home kit features the familiar red and blue stripes - although these taper off halfway down the front. The away kit is a simple white design, with red and blue colouring over the right side.

Palace chairman Simon Jordan told the official site: "I am delighted to be working with Errea and this is a fantastic move forward for both parties

"The Italians are renowned for their style and quality in the design and manufacture of clothes and I believe this year's kit will be received as one of the best yet."

However, the Palace fans we spoke to seemed far less convinced as they pondered shelling out £40 on yet another new shirt.

"They could not have done any worse on the home kit," blasted angry supporter David Gold, pointing out that the blue stripes on the home shirt appear to have been arranged in a heart shape.

Eagles fan Richie Groom agreed. "Why can't we just stick with the classic red and blue striped top?" he complained. "Those we had when there was no sponsor and when Churchill took over were by far the best Palace kits of recent years."
