Iain Dowie’s injury list has worsened dramtically ahead of the match against an unsettled Rangers side.
Andrew Johnson and recently returned Aki Riihilahti are both out of the clash. Johnson was forced out of Saturday’s goalless draw at Sheffield Wednesday after an hour with a gashed thigh, while Aki has a groin strain. Marco Reich is also expected to miss out.
In defence, Tony Popovic is still injured, while Fitz Hall and the resurgent Mark Hudson are both out suspended.
QPR, under caretaker charge since the suspension of boss Ian Holloway, have been forced to turn to third keeper Paul Jones as cover between the sticks. First choice Simon Royce and reserve Jake Cole are both injured. Midfielder Marc Bircham is also a doubt with a calf injury.
