Palace v Southampton – Team news preview

Last updated : 21 April 2006 By Nik Taylor

Iain Dowie is likely to recall several key players to the starting line-up as he looks to lead Palace in to the play-offs on a high.

Jon Macken and Clinton Morrison failed to muster a goal between them at Burnley on Monday, and are likely to make way to Andrew Johnson and Dougie Freedman.

Fitz Hall has recovered from a slight knock and should also be involved. However Jobi McAnuff will be missing with an ankle injury.

Southampton have won their last four, but have injury problems ahead of tomorrow's clash. Former Eagle Darren Powell is out until the start of next season after damaging cruciate ligaments.

Danny Higginbotham and Darren Kenton are also doubtful, with 16-year-old Gareth Bale likely to deputise for Higginbotham.

Probable Palace XI:

Kiraly
Boyce Hudson Ward Borrowdale
Soares Hughes Watson Reich
Johnson Freedman
