Palace v West Brom – Team news preview

Last updated : 17 October 2006 By Nik Taylor

After Saturday's home defeat to table-topping Cardiff, Palace face another tough test tonight with the visit of in-form West Brom.

The Baggies have won three of their last four games – and have scored nine goals in their last two.

That attacking threat does not bode well for Palace, as Peter Taylor looks to patch up his threadbare defence.

Matt Lawrence suffered a broken toe on Saturday, and with Danny Butterfield already injured Taylor will be forced to select a makeshift replacement for the right back slot.

Tom Soares is fit to start again after recovering from injury, but will probably be on the bench once more after Stuart Green's goalscoring performance at the weekend.

West Brom will be missing Neil Clement and Thomas Gaardsoe. However, Paul McShane – who scored the winner for Brighton at Selhurst last season – may return.

Probable Palace XI:

Kiraly
Hudson Ward Cort Borrowdale
McAnuff Watson Kennedy Green
Kuqi Scowcroft
