Pompey set to hijack Bulykin deal

Portsmouth have emerged as the most likely club to sign Palace target Dmitri Bulykin.

The Russian international striker had looked likely to join the Eagles at one point, but haggling over the price of the player has seen the move stall.

Palace’s interest cooled after Bulykin’s club, Dynamo Moscow, reportedly asked for a £1.5 million fee.

Now the forward is training at Fratton Park, with Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric keen to sign him up.

"Dmitri has been with us for a few days," said Mandaric. "He is just the type we need - a top-class target-man, excellent in the box."
