Williams has recovered from a groin injury and is expected to replace utility man Charlie Lee.

Ferguson may include winger Chris Whelpdale, who missed the start of the season following a hernia operation, but Jamie Day (ankle) will not feature as Posh aim to avoid a third successive league defeat for the first time since January 2007.

Midfielder Lee Frecklington could make the 100th league start of his career after scoring against Ipswich in the Carling Cup on Tuesday.

Palace will check on Victor Moses ahead of Monday evening's trip to London Road.

The teenage winger, who has been linked with a move to Wigan ahead of the transfer deadline, was on the end of a crunching tackle from Manchester City's Wayne Bridge during Thursday's Carling Cup defeat and suffered a leg injury.

The Eagles are still without strikers Stern John (elbow) and Calvin Andrew (knee), but Alan Lee can expect a recall in attack after dropping to the bench against City.

Midfielders Shaun Derry and Darren Ambrose played in midweek despite sickness bugs and should be fine again.

The clash is Palace's first trip to Peterborough's London Road ground since a 1-1 draw in March 1994.
