Rotherham v Palace - Team news preview

Last updated : 05 April 2004 By Nik Taylor

Palace go into tomorrow’s game at Rotherham hoping for the three points that would reignite our play-off hopes.

The Eagles looked out of it after defeat at West Brom ten days ago. But an amazing sequence of defeats for the top clubs at the weekend mean Palace will be only three points off sixth spot if we win our two games in hand.

Iain Dowie has a full squad to choose from, with Aki Riihilahti now back to fitness and looking likely to start. Ben Watson is also pushing for a return to the first eleven after recovering from his groin op. However, the youngster is likely to watch the start of this match from the bench.

Rotherham need the points as well – the Millers are only four points from the First Division drop-zone. They welcome back winger Chris Sedgwick, but will be missing suspended centre-back Chris Swailes.

Probable Palace XI:

Vaesen
Butterfield Hudson Popovic Granville
Routledge Riihilahti Hughes Gray
Johnson Shipperley
